TotalFilm just put out a list of the 50 greatest Star Wars scenes. While I certainly don’t agree with some (actually, most) of the list, our buddy Ackbar shows up at #7 here.
(Ackbar previously showed up on another TotalFilm Star Wars list, 50 greatest Star Wars characters, where he’s #15 here.)
It’s been a year ago today since I started this little Ackbar blog. Since then, I’ve gotten over 2400 views, got Bill “Crow T. Robot” Corbett to comment, and have been (not-always-consistently) updating with Ackbar news and Ackbar information as well as showcasing items in my personal Ackbar collection.
I couldn’t have done it without you. Yes, you. Thanks to all of you. My readers, my friends at the PSWCS, and anyone who’s ever given, traded, or sold me an Ackbar item. I love you all.
Here’s to another great year of Ackbar!
Today’s Chuck & Beans comic features Admiral Ackbar.
At Toy Fair 2012 UK, Kitt-O showed off some buildable papercraft models – and one of them is Ackbar!
This picture was taken from the blog Idle Hands, which has some more pictures and information here.
Today is my birthday!
I started collecting Ackbar almost exactly a year ago, because I got some Ackbar stuff on my birthday last year. (It hasn’t been exactly a year yet; I got the Ackbars a few days after my actual birthday.)
Today I got a real gem in the mail: a vintage 63-piece mini Ackbar puzzle originally from Greece. There’s not much information I can find on these things beyond this little note on the SW Collectors Archive.
Other than a little bit of creasing in the box’s sides, it’s in FANTASTIC condition. It’s hard to believe this is vintage.
Remember when I posted about that Star Wars chess set that was in Spanish and therefore I couldn’t figure out any details about the set? (For the record, that post is here.)
Well, it looks like the set is being released in Germany as well! And, lucky me, I happen to understand German, at least a little bit.
The DeAgostini Germany website for the chess set is here. Ackbar has not been released yet, but now that there’s information in a language I understand, I’ll be able to provide more information about the Ackbar pawn when it comes out.
