The Ackbert Report

Among my other non-Star Wars interests are The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Don’t worry, I’m not going to get political, but if you’re not a fan, you might want to skip this post. I won’t mind.

Where does Ackbar fit in to all of this, you ask?

Well, did you know that both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have mentioned Admiral Ackbar on their shows?

THIS IS AN ACTUAL SCREENCAP. NO PHOTOSHOP. THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED. (Click for full size!)

Again, NOT PHOTOSHOPPED. (Click for full size!)

Both shows made an Ackbar reference in their February 11, 2010 episodes. Why? Well, President Obama had just invited Republicans to a summit, and some conservative talking heads kept referring to it as a … you guessed it … trap.

Video clips of the segments in question: The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
NOTE: I’ve heard that these videos don’t always work for everyone; I apologize if you have problems loading the clips. And I’d just like to remind everyone that both shows are leftward-leaning political comedies, and if that isn’t your cup of dianoga tea*, you don’t have to click.

*I’m not making this up. Dianoga Tea.

Here are two other screencaps of Ackbar on the Colbert Report. (Click for full size!)

I leave you with this (purposely) terrible Photoshop, Stephen Ackbert.

The number one threat to the galaxy today... Traps!
